Tourists

As I'm in my final year of university, we are constantly being reminded we should improve our 'cultural capital' in order to make us more employable people. Despite having lived in Glasgow my whole life, I've never really taken a step back to see how beautiful this city is through the eyes of a tourist. So as inspiration for my friend's final year project, we set off on a trip round the city centre with ours eyes up taking in all the beautiful architecture Glasgow has to offer.

This Alexander McQueen hummingbird scarf was the perfect companion with it's gorgeous splashes of colour and silky, soft touch. Giving any outfit that McQ edge, I definitely didn't feel like your typical tourist!

21st birthday fun

Three 21st birthday's in a row definitely didn't do my liver any good but this Miu Miu Mini Matelasse in a gorgeous red quilted leather sure did my outfits some good! The sultry red colour not only brightened up my little black dress but added a touch of fun to my vintage blue dress on the Saturday. The shoulder strap kept my hands free for sipping cocktails and dancing the night away. Slick of red lipstick, heels on and I was definitely ready to celebrate in style!

Stereo

With so many friends finally coming back to Glasgow, I've been on the hunt for places that will leave us alone to eat, drink and catch up at our own pace. Stereo on Renfield Lane did just that. My Vivienne Westwood Derby has been perfect for taking me from day to evening amidst rambling conversations. Oh, and also been a fabulous point of envy. They got their travelling and I got a designer bag - I know I would definitely pick some beautiful arm candy over a mud hut any day!

The September issue

After spending this month perusing the September issue's of the fashion media, I'd resided myself to the fact that my summer clothes were to be packed away for another season...until the sun came out today! My mini Mulberry Mabel has not only allowed me work next season's country chic with ease but also added a pop of fresh colour to this retro summer playsuit.

Oh Mulberry, how I do love you.

A La Mode

"Women...are capable, should fashion demand it, of undergoing the most refined tortures"

Journal des Dames et des Modes, 1912

That certainly isn't the case with this beautiful Alexander McQueen Elvie! It's perfect for covering every Glasgow eventuality - the sun may have been out but I certainly wasn't leaving without my umbrella as well! Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting the A La Mode exhibition at Scotland Street Museum. Showcasing fashion prints from the early 20th century, this exhibition captures the essence of Parisian chic transporting us to a land and time far, far away.

On until the 17th October, be sure to check it out.

Return to normality

So I've been away on holiday for a while, unfortunately not to sunshine but instead Flordia rain! However, it's still nice to come back to Glasgow and catch up on a fortnight's worth of gossip...and work. My Marc Jacobs Petal Sasha bag has been perfect for heading straight to the pub after work. It's cute bird detail has received many compliments and with it's two compartments, I can easily carry everything I need and still work the latest trends. Now if the sun could just come out for a while I'd be ever so grateful!

Sunglasses and sandals

The sun is finally out in Glasgow!
This rare occurrence always makes the city look so pretty. Look up and you notice the intricate stone carvings found on most buildings, look straight ahead and you notice the smiling faces that line the streets. This Prada satchel has been ideal for holding all those sunshine essentials! Even if it is just to make sure I get to the bar for a refreshing cocktail...

Free cupcakes!

I never thought I'd utter the words "I'm off to the bingo", well for another good 50 years at least. However, with Hillhead Bookclub on Byres Road offering a chilled out atmosphere, tasty coffee and a round of bingo all on a dreary Wednesday afternoon, it was hard to resist. With a free cupcake thrown in, I soon became one happy girl!

To offset the sugary cupcake goodness, we headed to yoga later in the day. Thank god I had my raspberry Mulberry Bayswater with me! This beauty sure can hold a lot of stuff! My friend was convinced it had to be magic with items constantly appearing as I tried to find my keys which were obviously buried at the bottom of my bag. In this delicious girly colour, my summer is off to a blinding start!
